Public Health Issues During The Popes Visit for National Geographic

During the Popes visit to The United States in 2015, National Geographic published three stories related to the environment correlated to the cities he was visiting. The stories included a dumping ground for the Nation’s capital, Washington D.C. in the heart of an African American community, first-hand accounts of kids struggling to breathe due to asthma in East Harlem, and a community of Philadelphia immigrants transforming blighted lots into green gardens, bringing nature back to the city. The following are selected images from the three stories.
